Part-time volunteers play a large part in assisting Dublin Simon Community management, staff and residents in running of the services.
Most part-time volunteers work directly with Dublin Simon Community Service Users to develop and enhance life skills, such as budgeting, shopping, basic cooking, basic computer skills and literacy skills.
Part-time volunteers work in roles such as, fundraising, charity shop assistants, 'Soup Runners', Social Club, Housing Services, Treatment Services and DCTS.
All volunteers are required to complete training with Dublin Simon before they actively begin volunteering.
Currently throughout our services we have over 200 part-time volunteers.
Part-time volunteers must be 18+ and give 3 - 7 hours one evening a week for a minimum commitment of 1 year. The roles include:
All applications go through the Dublin Simon Community recruitment procedure and are subject to Garda vetting and reference checking.
We recruit quarterly for part-time volunteers.
